This is a demanding golf course in a unique setting! Inaugurated in 2002, the Loèche (Leuk) Golf Club is nestled between the mountains in an open space where the winds dance without restraint. On the Rhône River plain, in the German section of the canton, about 20 km from Loèche-les-Bains (Leukerbad), this location is ideal for those who want to combine some time on the greens with a visit to the spa.
The Loèche golf course has a distinctive configuration: created by Scotsman John Chilver-Stainer, it is the only one in Switzerland designed like the Scottish links. The winds, the rolling greens, the low sand traps and the hard terrain are all features that make this course into a genuine challenge, with a new set of difficulties at each hole, for suspense that builds as the game progresses. Because of the unusual exposure, the playing conditions change from day to day. There is no risk of boredom at this course – it’s an interesting challenge for players of any level. Afterwards, it will be all the more enjoyable to relax at the Living Room, the well-lighted clubhouse.
